  • After much delay, the Galaxy Fold could be finally ready for re-launch. As per some reports, the Galaxy Fold has passed the final round of tests with "flying colours" which suggests the company could soon announce its release date. The Galaxy Fold was meant to go on sale in April, but its launch was indefinitely postponed due to issues with the phone's flexible display and hinge design. Samsung has since been working on fixing the problems and is now perhaps confident in launching the phone in the market.
Reports by GizChina and Android Community say that the Galaxy Fold has passed all tests and could be close to getting a launch date. A couple of weeks ago, the Galaxy Fold was reportedly spotted in the hands of a person traveling in a train in New Delhi, India. Samsung is no doubt testing the Galaxy Fold in real-world environments and in case you're wondering, the company has confirmed in the past that the Galaxy Fold will come to India.
Furthermore, industry insiders have revealed that Samsung is preparing the marketing campaign for the Galaxy Fold. In a recent marketing photo, American musician Steve Aoki is seen holding a Galaxy Fold device.
According to these reports, Samsung has tweaked the design of the hinge and screen to make sure the Galaxy Fold does not face the same issues that plagued some early review units. While we still have no word about a launch date, it is possible that Samsung could be ready with the Galaxy Fold by August. The company could either make an announcement about the Galaxy Fold on August 7 during the Galaxy Note 10 event, or it could keep a separate announcement later that month.
Samsung also confirmed recently that the Galaxy Fold will not be manufactured in India. The Galaxy Fold features a 7.3-inch primary flexible AMOLED display and a secondary 4.6-inch screen on the cover of the phone. The Galaxy Fold is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset that is equipped with a 5G modem.
